In the UK there are over 9 million women who have a bladder problem. This can be due to pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, surgery or lifestyle. Bladder problems can be very distressing and embarrassing, and can have a significant impact on an individuals quality of life.

Physiotherapy is widely supported by healthcare professionals to help to reduce or resolve bladder problems. Treatments to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles can help to treat incontinence, as these muscles support around the bladder.

Catherine Jones is a specialist in Women's Health Physiotherapy and can offer assessment and treatment for:

  • Stress Urinary Incontinence - leakage from the bladder with coughing, sneezing, laughing, lifting or through exercise.
  • Overactive Bladder - this commonly causes a sudden urge to go to the toilet which may be associated with leakage from the bladder. It can cause an increase in the number of toilet visits to over 8 times a day and more than once during the night.
  • Weak Pelvic Floor Muscles
